TLS has returned from Cine Gear Expo 2026 following an extremely busy and productive week in LA, with the overall mood across the industry noticeably more optimistic than in recent years.
Held over two days, Cine Gear Expo provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with cinematographers, rental houses and industry partners, while showcasing the latest additions to the TLS lens portfolio alongside long-standing favourites. The show was well attended, attracting high-quality visitors and decision-makers from across the filmmaking community.
TLS exhibited alongside Band Pro Film & Digital, whose support throughout the event proved invaluable. Sharing booth space worked exceptionally well, giving visitors access to multiple camera formats and allowing them to experience TLS lenses in a variety of configurations.
Feedback on TLS products was overwhelmingly positive, with particular attention focused on several key lens ranges. The TLS Petzval lenses generated significant interest thanks to their distinctive character and creative appeal, while the Angénieux Zoom continued to attract strong attention from cinematographers seeking premium optical performance. The Vega65 range also proved popular among visitors exploring large-format solutions.
TLS also noted an increase in enquiries surrounding its Mamiya lens offerings, driven in part by the recent launch of the Sony Rialto 65 system and growing interest in 65mm workflows.
Cine Gear Expo 2026 also marked an opportunity to introduce TLS's rehoused Nikon AI/AI-S lens range to the market.
The overall response to the lenses was positive, particularly regarding their lightweight design. Visitors were pleased to see TLS expanding its offering to include the iconic Nikon stills optics in cinema-ready housings, with the compact form factor becoming a recurring talking point throughout the show.
The Nikon lenses are currently available for preorder – see the TLS website for more information https://www.truelens.co.uk/nikon-ai-s
Reflecting on the week, the TLS team described Cine Gear Expo 2026 as a fantastic experience and an important opportunity to reconnect with the filmmaking community.
"It has been an extremely busy week and has been fantastic to meet all those we had the chance to spend time with. TLS would like to extend its sincere thanks to Daniel and Amnon Band for their continued support, enthusiasm and assistance throughout the event.” Stated Stephen Lowe – Director of Operations.
As the industry momentum continues to build, TLS looks forward to developing the relationships strengthened during Cine Gear Expo and supporting filmmakers with innovative lens solutions for productions around the world.
