Following the success of the Cooke Speed Panchro and Super Baltar re-housing projects, True Lens Services is proud to announce its latest addition, the Kowa Cine Prominar range.

We can update the entire Kowa Cine Prominar range: 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm.

Manufactured in the late 1960’s, these lenses are known as the Japanese version of the Super Baltars. Optically, they are sharp with low contrast, and have a cooler colour transition and warmer flare than the Super Baltars.

The Oscar winning Rocky was shot with these beautiful lenses, as well as The Godfather II, and numerous Japanese features.

The Upgrade Process:

New stainless steel PL mount
High-grade aluminium alloy and stainless steel housing
New cam form focus drive
High calibre focus and iris rings
Engraved dual focus scales
Standard 110mm front ring

The Results:

The build quality of all our re-engineered lenses is extremely high. We ensure all our modified units are highly robust and will last for many years to come.

The optics of the Kowas will remain unchanged and their unmistakable visuals will be preserved as they originally are. The only difference is that they are now a perfect match for 4K digital camera systems, used in today’s industry.

The updated units are compatible with electronic drives, follow focus units and matte boxes. Focus pullers will appreciate the smooth feel and reliable movement that provides excellent results every time.
